The Nation's Weather for Monday, February 17, 2025
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Arctic air will continue to usher into the Plains on Monday,
which will lead to extremely cold and even dangerous
conditions, especially in the northern Plains, where high
temperatures will be below zero degrees Fahrenheit.
Lake-effect snow showers and even some squalls will develop
downwind of the Great Lakes, which can lead to slippery
travel and whiteout conditions in the heavier showers and
squalls. Elsewhere, rain will dampen the Northwest coast and
snow will spread from the northern Rockies to the central
Plains, leading to difficult travel. Across the Northeast,
very windy conditions can be expected with gusts up to 60
mph at times, which could bring down trees and powerlines.
Elsewhere, plenty of sunshine will be in store for much of
the Southeast and Gulf coast states.
