NATIONAL SUMMARY
Tomorrow, there can be thunderstorms in the southern Plains
that form late in the day and can be potentially severe.
They may be able to produce hail, localized damaging winds
and even an isolated tornado. An elevated fire threat will
continue in the Southwest with strong winds, dry brush and
low relative humidity. In general, there can be rain and
snow showers across the Intermountain West. There can also
be some spotty showers in the Mississippi River Valley and
perhaps around Chicago. The Northeast can remain cold;
temperatures can be 5 to 15 degrees below historical
averages. The Plains and South for the most part can be
relatively mild while the Appalachians and mid-Atlantic can
be chilly.
