NATIONAL SUMMARY
Severe thunderstorms can erupt tomorrow in the Plains. A
risk of destructive winds, hail, flooding and tornadoes will
exist from the Gulf Coast to the Midwest into tomorrow
night. The main threat will be destructive winds, especially
from Iowa and Missouri into western Illinois. Rain can
change over to snow in the northern Plains. A large area of
the central United States can have wind gusts greater than
40 mph. In the Southwest and southern Plains, a significant
wildfire risk can take shape due to gusts of 60 to 70 mph,
dry brush and low humidity. North to northwesterly winds
across the Plains can result in dangerous crosswinds along
I-90 and I-80. Snow in the Oregon Cascades and Sierra is
expected; there can be blizzard conditions near Mount Shasta
along I-5.
