NATIONAL SUMMARY
While a southerly wind brings a surge of warmth to the
mid-Atlantic and Ohio Valley tomorrow, cold air will linger
across the Upper Midwest and New England. This will allow
snow and ice to mix in with rain from South Dakota to Maine.
Elsewhere, showers and thunderstorms are expected along the
Mississippi Valley. Storms from Louisiana to southern
Tennessee will be capable of producing flash flooding and
gusty winds in the heaviest downpours. Storms from Oklahoma
to southern Iowa will strengthen by evening, which will
bring a threat for damaging winds, hail and even a few
tornadoes. Cool and dry conditions can be expected along the
West Coast with gusty winds from Arizona to West Texas. It
will be warm across the Southeast and southern Plains with
humid conditions in Texas.
