The Nation's Weather for Saturday, May 7, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A slow-moving storm will continue to amble through the
central Appalachians and mid-Atlantic tomorrow. Occasional
rain and drizzle will dampen much of Pennsylvania, New
Jersey, Maryland and Delaware. The clouds and rain will also
lead to an unseasonably cool day. A few thunderstorms can
rumble farther to the south in Virginia and North Carolina,
although severe weather is not expected. The Northwest will
also be cool and showery. Temperatures are expected to be
low enough for snow to fall in the mountains. The first heat
wave of the year will bake Texas, with highs exceeding 100 F
from the panhandle to the Big Bend area. A few
thunderstorms, some of which may be strong, are forecast to
develop late in the day and in the evening in the central
and eastern Dakotas.
