The Nation's Weather for Saturday, July 30, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms with localized downpours will cover a wide
swath from the Four Corners region to North Carolina
tomorrow. Flooding can occur anywhere in that zone, with the
highest chance from southern Missouri and northern Arkansas
through Tennessee and North Carolina. Farther south, spotty
afternoon thunderstorms can rumble through the Gulf Coast
states. Outside of a few morning showers in interior New
England and upstate New York, the Northeast should have a
dry day with seasonable temperatures and low humidity. In
contrast, the Pacific Northwest will continue to endure a
long-duration heat wave. More record highs are likely to be
challenged, and some interior valleys of southeastern
Washington and northeastern Oregon are expected to soar over
110 F.
