The Nation's Weather for Thursday, August 4, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms with drenching rain may cause flash flooding
from northwestern Ohio to northeastern Arkansas tomorrow.
This could include St. Louis, which was hit hard with
widespread flooding last week. Elsewhere, spotty
thunderstorms can rumble across the Gulf Coast states.
Meanwhile, afternoon thunderstorms will develop in parts of
the interior West as the North American monsoon continues.
Heat and humidity are expected to surge into the Northeast.
Portions of central and eastern Pennsylvania, southern and
eastern New York, northern New Jersey and much of New
England could have their highest temperatures of the summer
so far. Gusty winds and excessive dry weather will elevate
the fire threat in southeastern Washington, central and
eastern Oregon and northwestern Idaho and Montana.
