The Nation's Weather for Thursday, August 18, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Heavy rain will fall in parts of the Southeast tomorrow,
especially along the Gulf coast, as a stalled front focuses
thunderstorms on the region. North of this front, cooler
weather will arrive from northern Louisiana into
north-central Texas. The mid-Atlantic will be mostly dry as
any showers and thunderstorms should remain confined to the
mountains of North Carolina and West Virginia. In the
Northeast, showers will be possible in northern New England
with a bit of steadier rain expected in Maine. West of
there, pleasant conditions will be common across the Great
Lakes region as high pressure takes control. Thunderstorms
will be possible across the northern Plains with monsoon
storms again likely from the Four Corners area into Southern
California.
