The Nation's Weather for Thursday, August 25, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Drenching thunderstorms will lead to the risk for flash
flooding in southeastern Mississippi and central and
southern Alabama tomorrow, with at least spotty storms
expected elsewhere in the Southeast. Monsoon thunderstorms
will increase a bit in coverage, with much of the Four
Corners region at risk for an afternoon thunderstorm.
However, the higher elevations will have the greater chance.
Farther north, afternoon thunderstorms could also develop in
much of the northern Rockies near a stalled front. A more
concentrated area of rain and storms will be possible in
Wisconsin and northern Michigan. A stray shower cannot be
ruled out in northern New England, but the region should
largely be dry. The Pacific Northwest will continue to warm,
although temperatures should fall short of records.
