B.H. Patterson
85, Columbia
A private graveside service will be held for B.H. Patterson, 85, of Columbia, who peacefully passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023, as family surrounded him at his residence.
He was a man of great faith and a member of First Baptist Church Columbia. He enjoyed a career in insurance sales as he worked for various companies including his own agency, Patterson’s Insurance Agency in Picayune and also enjoyed the outdoors being he was an avid coon hunter, which was his passion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orell Patterson and Florence Atwood Patterson; sister, Elizabeth Aultman; brother, Burl Patterson; and grandson, Patrick Davis.
His memory will be forever cherished by his wife of 63 years, Dell Patterson of Columbia; daughters, Anita Davis and Amanda Patterson, both of Columbia; son, Britt Patterson (Michelle) of Picayune; sisters, Estelle Herring of Brandon and Doris Howard (Walter) of Crystal Springs; brothers, Dr. Dale Patterson (Louise) of Pensacola, Fla., and Charles Patterson (Mary Nell) of Prentiss; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
