Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on May 11, in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel for Helen Marie Green, 80, of Columbia, who died on May 6, in Hattiesburg. Burial followed in Rocky Branch Cemetery. Bro. Dale Broome officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on May 10 at Colonial Funeral Home.
She was a member of Rocky Branch Missionary Baptist Church. She worked as a supervisor with Rutter-Rex and retired after more than 50 years of employment.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Bryant and Clara Mae Randall Bryant; sisters, Judith Warden and Emogene Bond; and brother, Billy Bryant.
Survivors include her husband, James “Punk” Green of Columbia; daughters, Donna Dement of Sumrall and Debra Green of Columbia; sons, Lindon Green (Ann) of Petal and Ronald Green of Columbia; sisters, Janet Folkes (Sonny) of Seminary and Lucy Hartfield of Diamondhead; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren (one on the way).
Pallbearers were Justin Green, Travis Green, Darryl Russell, Kermit Dement, Jr., Jared Roper and Kevin McCraney.
