Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Hathorn Funeral Home for Janis Price Stovall, 76, of Columbia, who died on Wednesday, July 12, in Hattiesburg. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery. Rev. Jerron Carney officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until the time of the services on Saturday, July 15, at Hathorn Funeral Home.
She was an avid gardener who loved to work with plants. She loved her family and was a wonderful registered nurse. She loved her Lord and was so much fun to be around. When able, she and Kenny loved to travel, and they visited many states. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Ray Price Sr.; mother, Kathleen Bozeman Price; nephew, Adam Wayne Price; and brother-in-law, Danny Gail Haddox.
Survivors include her spouse, Kenneth “Kenny” Wayne Stovall; two brothers, Earl Ray Price Jr. (Karen) and Broward Wayne Price (Debbie Gail); 12 nephews, Danny Ray Price (Janet), Andy Wayne Price, Alex Ray Price (Peyton), Drew Reagan Price, William Christopher Price, Porter Adam Price, Spencer Tate Stovall, Jory Christopher Haddox (Christie), Connor Christopher Haddox, Gunnar Haddox, Daniel Pierce and Isaac Pierce; two nieces, Amy Price and Shelbi Marie Stovall; brother-in-law, Kevin Dale Stovall; and three sisters-in-law, Linda Bean Price, Beverly Stovall Haddox and Pamela Louise Stovall.
Pallbearers were Ramie Watts Russell, James Marlon Broome, Danny Ray Price, Alex Ray Price, Dennis Gordon Pitts and Spencer Tate Stovall. Honorary pallbearers were Mims R. Russell III, Drew Reagan Price, Andy Wayne Price, Jamie Adam Fortenberry, Jory Christopher Haddox and Thomas Newton Fortenberry.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks to make donations in her memory to Woodlawn Church or Pine Grove Pentecostal Church.
