Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023, at Hathorn Funeral Home for Mona Faye Stringer, 67, of Foxworth, who died on Friday, Jan. 6. Burial followed in Travis Stringer Cemetery in Columbia. Rev. Terry Rayburn officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, at Hathorn Funeral Home.
She was a longtime resident of Marion County. She was known for being a great cook. She also loved to read and enjoyed gardening. She was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church in Foxworth. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Dean; mother, Marian Lorrett Dean; and one brother, Kevin Dean.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Donnie Wayne Stringer of Foxworth; one son, Daniel Stringer of Foxworth; two daughters, Shelly Dement (Eddie) and Sheila Graves (Chris), both of Foxworth; two grandchildren, Samantha Kaye Graves and Piper Landri Dement, both of Foxworth; and two sisters, Cheryl Bracey and Judy Brumfield (Ralph), both of Foxworth.
Pallbearers were Gerald Rowley, Dale Bracey, Brad Brumfield, Chris Powell, Lucas Stringer and Heath Speights.
