A memorial service was held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2023, at Moore Hattiesburg Chapel for Peter Dias, Jr., 55, of Columbia, who died on Sunday, April 30, in Hattiesburg after a tragic automobile accident. Visitation was held from noon until the time of the services on Saturday, May 5, at Moore Hattiesburg Chapel.
He was a member of Chapel of the Cross Methodist Church in Columbia. He enjoyed cars, playing golf and tailgating at Southern Miss football games. He loved life and was happiest when he was spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Dawn Darby Dias of Columbia; sons, Roger "R.J."Dias (fiancé, Colette Brunner) of Grayson, Ga., and Matthew Dias of Columbia; mother, Judith Dias-DeMass of Phoenix, Ariz.; father, Peter Dias Sr. of Ocean Springs; sister, Renée Dias Moon (Jason) of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Jay Dias (Jennifer) of Ocean Springs; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
