Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Hathorn Funeral Home for Austin Kyle Rucker, 22, of Columbia, who passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 27 in Columbia. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery. Dr. Bryant Barnes officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, March 1 at Hathorn Funeral Home.
He loved hunting, fishing, working on cars, spending time with family and friends, working with his church youth, and running sound equipment for worship services. Most of all he loved spending time with his precious wife, Marlo.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Thomas Polk, and cousin, Jackson McLendon.
Survivors include his wife, Marlo Ann Rucker of Columbia; father, Darrell Scott Rucker (Stacy) of Sumrall; mother, Shelley Rucker of Columbia, brother, Brandon Rucker (Cheyenne) of Dike, Texas; stepbrothers, Griff Decuir (Samantha) of Sumrall, Andrew Decuir (Victoria) of Montgomery, Ala., and John Cody Stogner of Sumrall; stepsister, Alyssa Stogner of Sumrall; grandparents, Catherine Polk of Columbia and Frank and Cathy Rucker of Harvest, Ala., and cousins, Kathryn Smith of Picayune and Tyler McLendon and Madison McLendon, both of Memphis, Tenn., and Maggie Grace Morgan and Mary Kate Morgan, both of Hattiesburg.
Pallbearers were Brandon Rylee, Jon Courtney, Mikey Peavy, Tyler Bass, Josh Powell, Tony Polk, Brian Rylee and Jonathan Mobley.
