Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at Hathorn Funeral Home for Byron Herrin, 62, of Columbia, who died on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017 in Hattiesburg. Interment followed in Woodlawn Cemetery. Dr. Bryant Barnes and Dr. Bill Miller officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Hathorn Funeral Home.
He was employed at Pearl River Valley Electric Power Association and was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbia.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Herrin of Columbia; parents, Horace M. and Mae Herrin of Columbia; son, Christopher Byron Herrin (Brittany) of Gretna, La.; daughter, Christina Elizabeth Mae Herrin of Columbia; granddaughter, Rose Taylor Herrin of Gretna, La.; brother, Neil Herrin (Amy) Seymour, Tenn.; sister, Sandy Easterling (Bruce) of Hattiesburg and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
