Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, at Good Hope Baptist Church for Carrie Bell Bass, 87, of Columbia, who died on Thursday, Aug. 2 in Columbia. Burial followed in Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Justin Cameron officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services on Saturday, Aug. 4 at Good Hope Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Earl Bass; parents, Manton and Frances Broom, and two brothers, Ezell Broom and Redus Broom.
Survivors include her son, Wesley Bass (Sandra) of Columbia; three brothers, Clifton Broom, Lloyd Broom (Charlsie) and JD Broom (Jean), all of Columbia; three grandchildren, Kim Shoemake of Sumrall, and Melissa Adams and Adam Bass, both of Columbia; six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Adam Bass, Steven Stringer, Jason Stringer, Lucas Stringer, Jerry Broom and Eddie Broom.
