Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019, at Colonial Funeral Home for C. M. Roberts, 83, of Foxworth, who died on Saturday, Jan. 26. Burial followed in Foxworth Cemetery. Visitation was held 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27 at Colonial Funeral Home.
He was born in Marion County, where he remained a lifelong resident. He retired from Pearl River Valley Electric Power Association and was an active member of Foxworth First Baptist Church. He enjoyed time spent in his garden growing vegetables and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Marie Holmes; parents, Charlie Mae and Polly Roberts; sister, Bernice McCraw; two brothers, Henry Dale Roberts and Vernell Roberts, and son-in-law, Bruce Magee.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Helen Roberts; two daughters, Deborah Magee and Michelle Powell (Greg); a son, Paul Roberts; two sisters, Norma Carr and Theresa Popwell (James); a brother, Lavell Roberts (Lorraine); six grandchildren, Trelys Magee, Kelly Roberts, Ramsey Roberts, Matthew Holmes, Logan Powell and Paxton Powell, and seven great-grandchildren.
