Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Don Ray Pierce, 67, of Columbia, who passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Forrest General Hospital. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery. Pastor Jerron Carny and Bro. A.D. Gammill Jr. officiated. Visitation was held from noon until 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 20 at Hathorn Funeral Home.
Mr. Pierce was a longtime employee of Pioneer, and he was a member of North Columbia Baptist Church. He loved to play golf and was a dedicated fan of the New Orleans Saints. He loved to attend family gatherings and enjoyed special time with family and friends he held dear to his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Iva Pierce; one brother, Ronnie Pierce; and one sister, Nita Pierce; and one nephew, Timmy Breshears.
He is survived by his son, Shawn Dickinson of Columbia; two sisters, Rita Bellotti of Columbia, and Connie Breshears of Lumberton; two grandchildren, Kylie Dickinson and Kody Dickinson of Columbia; nieces, Belinda Struss of Hattiesburg and Eilleen Hibley Breshears of Columbia; one nephew, James Russell Bellotti of Columbia; great-niece Ashley Hope Breshears Bond (Dylan) of Columbia; great-nephew, Brandon W. Struss of Hattiesburg; and one sister-in-law, Anna Pierce of Tampa.
