James “Jimmie” LaRune Coman

A memorial service was held from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. with a Military Honors Program at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, at Thibodaux Funeral Home in honor of James “Jimmie” LaRue Coman, 78, of Thibodaux, La., a native of Foxworth and Columbia, who died on Aug. 3.
He served as a U.S. Navy Sailor stationed in San Diego, Calif. He was a 32nd Degree Mason of Eureka Lodge #40 and a Shriner Member of Sahara and Scottish Rite.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marshall “Red” Coman and Bertha Mullins Coman, and sister, Marsha Coman Smith, all of Columbia.
Survivors include his sister, Fannie Godwin of Baton Rouge, La.; three children, Romi Plaisance of Lafayette and Valerie Kraemer (Clayton) and Mark Coman (Trish), both of Thibodaux; mother to his children, Fran Jett of Thibodaux; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Tulane Anatomical received his remains per his wishes.
Thibodaux Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
