Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at Colonial Funeral Home for Jamie Hammond, 44, of Columbia, who died on Friday, Jan. 18 in Hattiesburg. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 20 at Colonial Funeral Home.
He was a native of Haynesville, La., and had been a resident of Columbia since he was in high school. He worked with his father for many years in the family business, Advanced Plumbing in Columbia. He had many interests and hobbies including motorcycles, kayaking and all things outdoors. Most of all, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Harold Hammond and Eamon Bishop; grandmothers, Martha Walters, Lucille Bishop and Barbara Sabine, and sister, Amanda Hernandez.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Hammond; three daughters, Darian McDaniel, Skye Hammond and Blakeli Hammond; four sons, Gage Hammond (Mackenzie), Landon Hammond, Ashton Hammond and Brenton Broom; father, Wendell Hammond (Sharon); mother, Earnestine Hernandez (Fortino); three sisters, Sarah Cranford (Jeremiah), Wendy Reid and Tiffany Sabine (Ben); four brothers, Joey Hammond (Carrie), Kevin Hammond, Timothy Hammond (Leslie) and Fred Abram (Felicia); three grandchildren, Easton, Korbenn and Jaxx, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Colonial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
