Funeral services were held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, at Colonial Funeral Home for Jewel Mason Stogner Sr., 86, of Columbia, who died on Monday, Dec. 9 in Hattiesburg. Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12 in Foxworth Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until the time of the services and until 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at Colonial Funeral Home.
He was employed with Orleans Furniture for 20 years and attended North Columbia Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jewel Mason Stogner Jr.; father, Lewis Stogner; mother, Idy Peak Stogner; sister, Velma Smith, and brothers, Hollis Stogner and Shelby Stogner Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Stogner of Columbia; daughter, Tammy Pittman (James) of Columbia; brother, Charles Stogner (Dot) of Columbia; four grandchildren, Corey Hunt, Casey Pegram, Morgan Penalver and Amber Stogner, and three great-grandchildren, Conner, Kally and Carley.
