Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Improve Baptist Church for Joanne Bell, 85, of Columbia, who died on Sunday, April 8 in Collins. Burial will follow in Improve Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Darel Daniels will officiate at the services. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the services on Thursday, April 12 at Improve Baptist Church.
A native of Hamburg, Ark., she was a piano teacher and a member of Improve Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Bell, and parents, Macon and Leone Dunn.
Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Dixson Robinson of Atlanta; a niece, Laura Dixson Tennington (Glen) of Atlanta; a great-niece, Sarah Tennington and two great-nephews, Noah Tennington, and Joshua Tennington.
