Funeral services were at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Hathorn Funeral Home for Lynda Carol Pace, 73, of Columbia, who passed away on Saturday, June 30 in Hattiesburg. Burial followed in Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Brent Robbins and Bro. Glen Pace officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday, July 2 at Hathorn Funeral Home.
As a lifetime resident of Marion County, she adored her family, children and grandchildren. Any pictures taken of her would attest that she was always smiling. She loved to travel and see the world. She loved gardening and working in the yard with her husband, Jerry. She retired from Forrest General Hospice in 2009 as a nurse’s aide and prided herself in the care she gave to her patients. She was a long-time and faithful member of Faithway Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carsie and Mary Alice Watts; one son, David Allen Pace; two brothers, Thomas Nathan Watts and Henry Watts, and one sister, Betty Prine.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Jerry Glen Pace; one daughter, Barbara Ann Goodman (Dale); two sons, Glen Michael Pace and Jeffrey Wayne Pace; one brother, Hubert Watts (Settie), and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations can be made to Forrest General Hospice and/or Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg.
Pallbearers were Jeff Morris, Clay Burge, Sydney Broom, Blake Austin, Robert Breazeale, Jacob Bates, Kevin Goodman and Bentley Stuart.
