Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church for Mrs. Ernie Lee Miller, 92, of Houston, Texas, and formerly of Columbia, who died on Saturday, June 23 at her residence. Burial followed in Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Wayne McMahon, Bro. Dewitt Bain and Bro. Dale Broom officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26 at Colonial Funeral Home.
A native of Marion County, she was a homemaker and lifelong member of Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.E. Miller; son, John Michael Miller; parents, John E. and Cordia Patterson Lott; sisters, Ida Broom and Effie Mae Miller, and brothers, Robert Lott, Ben Lott, G.W. “Dub” Lott and Joe Lott.
Survivors include her two daughters, Deborah Sanders of Houston and Leeann McMahon (Wayne) of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; four grandchildren, Dr. John Michael Miller II (Heather), Rhua Williams II (Amy), Cami Mitchell (John) and Adam McMahon; seven great-grandchildren, Andrew Miller, Maggie Miller, Haley Williams, Jake Williams, Elizabeth Johnson, Selah Mitchell and Judah Mitchell, and a great-great-grandson, Abner Johnson.
Pallbearers were Jason Cook, Kendall Culpepper, Keith Ramshur, John Mitchell, Mike Bennett and Rhua Williams II.
