A private graveside service was held on Friday, Sept. 25, 2020, for Everett Tony Luther, 78, of Columbia, who died on Wednesday, Sept. 23. Bro. Larry Dunnaway officiated at the service.
As a native of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, he loved growing up by the Coast. He and his wife, Mrs. Virginia, were married for 60 years. He enjoyed fishing and took up archery in his later years, winning first place in a number of competitions. He was a veteran of the Navy. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Jack Luther; mother, Daisy Evelyn Wade Luther; one brother, Jerry Luther, and three sisters, Patricia Ball, Jean Couch and Paula Luther.
Survivors include his spouse, Virginia Annette Day Luther; his only daughter, Virginia Lynn Deer (Greg); granddaughter, Kayla Lopez (Adam); grandson, James Nickolas Deer; great-grandson, Christopher Carter Peak; great-granddaughter, Cali Grace Smith; brother, Daniel Luther (Tae), and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Bro. Larry Dunnaway, Charles “Scooter” Day and David McDonald.
