Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at Colonial Funeral Home for Harold W. Tolar, 90, of Columbia, who died on Thursday, July 16 at his residence. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation was held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday, July 22 at Colonial Funeral Home.
He was a 1947 graduate of Columbia High School and attended Soule Business College in New Orleans. He was a supervisor with E.I. DuPont and retired in 1991 after 26 years of employment. He was a member of East Columbia Baptist Church and was a longtime member of Gideons International.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edra Davis Tolar; son, Phillip Tolar; parents, Albert Richard Tolar and Louise Jones Tolar, and brother, Albert Raymond Tolar.
Survivors include his sons, Larry W. Tolar (Joanie) of Ponchatoula, La., and Michael T. Tolar (Allyson) of Picayune; brother, Louis Tolar (Tommie) of Hattiesburg; three grandchildren, Amanda T. StGermain, Timothy A. Tolar and Eric W. Tolar; two great-grandchildren, Archer StGermain and Andrew StGermain, and sister-in-law, Margie Tolar of Belle Chasse, La.
