Johnny Earl Turnage
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27, 2021, at Colonial Funeral Home for Johnny Earl Turnage, 73, of Kokomo, who died on Monday, Aug. 23, in Laurel. Burial followed in Turnage Chapel Cemetery. Visitation was held from noon until the time of the services on Friday, Aug. 27, at Colonial Funeral Home.
He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam and employed in the oilfield more than 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bill Aubrey Turnage; parents, Garvin Turnage and Laura Marie Jackson Turnage; brother, Charles Griffing; and grandsons, Nicholas Turnage, Branen Carter, Donnie Anthony Sanders, and Jesus Sauls.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Geraldine Turnage of Kokomo; three daughters, Deanna Galvan and Rhonda Cox (Phillip), both of Kokomo and Jeanna Newman of Wilberton, Okla.; five sons, John Brian Turnage of Mobile, Ala., Johnny G. Turnage (Leena), Willam R. Stogner (Needa) and Gerald R. Stogner (Amy), all of Kokomo and Robert H. Stogner (Helen) of Pass Christian; two sisters, Doshia Blansett of Wilberton, Okla., and Nita Martin of Lucedale; brother, Jerry Joe Turnage (Judy) of Panama City Beach, Fla., and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family.
