A graveside service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, in Foxworth Cemetery for Ophelia Mills, 96, of Foxworth, who died on Friday, July 3 in Hattiesburg just two days before her 97th birthday. Rev. Tyler Chavis officiated at the services. Visitation was held at 10:15 a.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday, July 8 in Foxworth Cemetery.
As a longtime resident of Foxworth, she owned Mills Decorating in Columbia and was a member of Foxworth First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Mills; parents, Hubert Stapleton and Lether Carter Stapleton, and six siblings.
Survivors include her son, David Mills; four grandchildren, Jeff Mills, Tamara Haleem, Tracey David and John Mills, and seven great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers were Jesse Broom, Emmett Broom, Matthew David, Chad David, Vernon David and Brandon Murry.
