Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, at Hathorn Funeral Home for Alice Marie Davis, 83, of Columbia, who died on Tuesday, Dec. 31 at her residence. Burial will follow in Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Everette Broome will officiate at the services. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3 at Hathorn Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelby Davis; parents, Perdee and Mary Penton; son, Alan Davis; daughter, Mary Alice Johnson; grandchild, Wesley T, Johnson Jr.; brothers, Jimmy Penton, Jewel Penton, Vinson Penton, and sisters, Lou Meyers, Bobbie Bragg, Jerry Wright, Dorothy Phillips and Johnnie Lee.
Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Nicholson (Bennie) and Martha Davis, both of Columbia; brother, Huey Penton (Elaine) of Texas; sister, Evon Castaing of Gulfport; grandchildren, Jeremy Reid, Trent Reid (Felicia) and Anita Dawn Johnson; great-grandchildren, Tyler Creel, Wade Creel, Brannon Johnson, Trinity Reid, Hunter Reid and Dalton Reid.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Reid, Trent Reid, Tyler Creel, Wade Creel, Hunter Reid, Dalton Reid, Trinity Reid and Brannon Johnson.
