Ann Speights Bryant
88, Columbia
Due to the Covid-19 dilemma, a graveside service for immediate family members only will be held for Ann Speights Bryant, 88, of Columbia, who was taken by the angels to meet her Savior and Lord on Monday morning, April 13, 2020.
She was born on April 10, 1932. She was loved and respected by many, living her life in the Columbia and New Orleans areas. She especially loved her husband, James Otis Bryant. He loved and provided for her for almost 70 years and she had strong suggestions on how he should do that. Together they were a wonderful example of Christian marriage.
She was an expert seamstress and there are numerous wedding photos attesting to her talents. She enjoyed watching hummingbirds, could plant and grow almost any type of flower, and cooked the best gumbo and cinnamon rolls! Ann always tried to keep her daughters and grandchildren on the right path.
She was preceded in death by her parents, S.E. and Geneva Speights; brothers, Ellis, John D., and Dewitt Speights; sisters, Nell Douglas, Edna Earl Magee and Fannie Mae Delancy; and granddaughter, Renee Ratliff.
Survivors include her husband, James; daughters, Sherry (Paul), Pamela (Charles), Donna (Ron) and Holly (Kirk); grandchildren, Troy, Jaime, Joshua, Sara, Alexandra and Rae; six greatgrandchildren; sisters, Muriel McCain and Helen Crout, and brother, Wain Speights.
Ann, Mama, Grandmama will be missed terribly by her family, but they know she is being welcomed into heaven by her Heavenly Father and by family and friends that are already there.
Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Barron, Joshua Stringer, Stephen James Tolar, Aidan Summers, Dan Speights, and David Allen Reed.
Friends and family can sign an online guest register book at www.hathornfuneralhome.com.
