A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2020, in Morgantown Cemetery for Barbara Alice Easterling, 80, of Columbia, who died on Thursday, May 7 in Columbia. Rev. Pettis Brewer officiated at the services.
As a long-time resident of Marion County, she was raised in Sandy Hook. She was a faithful minister's wife as she and her husband, Rev. Darrell, pastored several Church of God congregations in South Mississippi. She was a hardworking woman committed to her career in the medical industry. In her later years, she especially took pleasure in being a caregiver to the elderly. She adored her only grandchild, Jordan.
She was preceded in death by husband, Rev. Darrell Easterling; parents, Alcus and Flossie Jones; one son, Daniel Easterling; one sister, Lois Edwards, and one brother, John Henry Jones.
Survivors include her son, Jonathan Easterling (Nancy) of Columbia, and one grandchild, Jordan Easterling of Columbia.
