Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019, in Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery for Cecelia Darlene Case Gipson, 68, of Columbia, who died on Friday, Nov. 29 in Hattiesburg. Bro. Mike Grenn officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at the Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
Known to her family and friends as "Momma D,” she enjoyed reading, sitting on her back porch watching her hummingbirds, cooking and baking, decorating for the holidays and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, James Russell "Ruff" Gipson, and parents, Pat Harold and Margaret Lucille Case.
Survivors include her one son, Thomas Patrick Gipson (Katrina) of Magee; one daughter, Melissa Ann Jones (Chris) of Pascagoula; one brother, Richard Harold Case of Maryville, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Connor Scott Jones, Tristan Zachariah Jones, Shyanne Baleigh Gipson, Ashlynn Hope Gipson, Kayce Leighann Gipson and John Patrick Gipson, and her dear friend, Sue Robbins.
