Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020, at Pine Grove United Pentecostal Church for Charley Wade, 78, of the Darbun community, who died on Thursday, Jan. 9. The committal service will be held at 3:30 p.m. followed by burial in Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary. Rev. Randall McKay, Rev. James Carney and Rev. Darrin Powell officiated at the services. Visitation was held 10 a.m. until the time of the services on Sunday, Jan. 12 at Pine Grove United Pentecostal Church.
He was an iron worker who worked in numerous places around the country before retiring and moving to Marion County 25 years ago. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather who was devoted to his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; two sisters; a wife, Mary Wade; a daughter, Darlene Wade, and a son, Darrell Wade.
He was husband to Betty Wade; father to Darwin Wade (Cathy) and Darla Wade; stepfather to Darrell Bracey (Bridgette) and Michael Bracey (Connie); brother to Pauline Newcomb, Margie Sauls and Ruthie Mae Landrum; Paw Paw to Haley Millis (Cale), Brent Wade, Blake Wade, Kasie Wade, Garrett Wade, Charly Wade, Kyle Morlan and Blake Tyler; Paw Charles to Derek Bracey (Ashley), Brittney Bracey (Austin Morgan), Steven Bracey (Marla), Devin Bracey (Bayli) and Morgan Carney, and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Brent Wade, Blake Wade, Garrett Wade, Derek Bracey, Steven Bracey and Devin Bracey.
