David Joseph “Joe” Speights

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 9, 2019, at Woodlawn Cemetery for David Joseph “Joe” Speights, 72, of Columbia, who died on Wednesday, Nov. 27 in Collins.
A native and longtime resident of Columbia, he was an appliance repairman, a Vietnam veteran serving in the United States Army and a Baptist. He was also a lifelong member of the VFW local posts.
He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver Speights; mother, Faye Duncan Speights; sister, Gayle Divine, and brother, Jerry Speights.
Survivors include his brothers, Mark Speights and Alfred Melcher, and numerous extended family members.
