A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2020, in the Lilly Family Cemetery in Liberty for Mrs. Elsie Marie Hodges Pittman, 61, of Foxworth, who went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 24 in Hattiesburg. Rev. Floyd Odom will officiate at the services. A graveside visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the services on Thursday, April 30 in the Lilly Family Cemetery in Liberty.
She was born on Nov. 26, 1958, and was the daughter of Herbert Hodges and Ruby May Lilly Hodges.
She was a member of Charter Oak Apostolic Lighthouse Church where she was the pastor’s wife. She was a talented piano player and loved to play and sing for the Lord. She loved church. Church was her life. She enjoyed cooking, baking and having family time. She made sure to cook special dishes. She looked forward to her family reunions. She enjoyed teaching and homeschooling her boys. She loved her husband, children, daughters-in-law and grandbabies, and cherished each moment spent with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Helen Blalock, Ethel Voight, Janice Mason and Annie Pearl Blalock, and one infant sister, Maxine Hodges.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Barney Pittman Jr. of Foxworth; three sons, Barney Trey Pittman III (Elana) of Sumrall, Braxton Pittman (Destiny) of Folsom, La., and Brian Pittman of Foxworth; three grandchildren, Bryson Pittman, Alexis Pittman and Gracelynn Pittman; one brother, David Hodges; four sisters, Edna Blalock, Lucille Israel and (Varnell), Polly Stinson (Robert) and Beverly Oliver (Terry); and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
