Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020, at First Baptist Church in Columbia for Jerry Edward Breakfield, 80, of Columbia, who passed away on Sunday, Feb. 9 in Hattiesburg. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery. Dr. Bryant Barnes officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at the First Baptist Church in Columbia.
As a long-time resident of Marion County, he worked as a State Farm Agent for 55 years in Columbia. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He was also an avid golfer. He was a proud sponsor of pee wee football and a proud coach.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. O. and Charlene Breakfield, and sister, Gayle Reid.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Breakfield of Columbia; two daughters, Cynthia Lick (Charles) of Brandon and Glenda Petroff (Richard) of Covington, La.; son, Eddie Breakfield (Veronica) of Athens, Ala.; grandchildren, Amanda Faucheux (Chris), Drew Lick, Erin Allen (Zachary), Morgan Breakfield (Dagan), Rachel Smith (Sam), Mary Claire Skipper (Nathan), Ryan Petroff and Ilja Lick; great-grandchildren, Madison Noelle Faucheux, Emma Reese Faucheux, Mary Ryan Skipper and Everly Elizabeth Allen.
Pallbearers were Chris Faucheux, Ryan Petroff, Zachary Allen, Morgan Breakfield, Drew Lick, Ilja Lick, Sam Smith and Nathan Skipper.
