Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, at Enon Baptist Church for Lamar Eldridge Dale, 83, of Columbia, who died on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at his residence. Burial followed in Enon Church Cemetery. Bro. Richard Magee, Bro. Bill Morris and Bro. Edward Penton officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21 at Hathorn Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until the time of the services on Saturday, Feb. 22 at Enon Baptist Church.
As a resident of Marion County for more than 50 years, he loved farming. He was a faithful member to Enon Baptist Church. Children always held a special place in his heart, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lamar and Sylvenia Dale, and one sister, Betty Dedeaux.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Emma Dale; one son, Glenn Dale; one daughter, Renee Stampley (Rob); two sisters, LaDonis Good and Lamara Ladner, and two grandchildren, Kris Stampley (Alicia) and Ryan Stampley.
Pallbearers were Logan Dunn, T.J. Kennedy, Mark Peavy, Cole Robbins, Will Simmons and Neal Windham.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Enon Baptist Church Building Fund.
