Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019, at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church in Sumrall for Thomas "Tommy" J. Tolar, 68, of Columbia, who died on Friday, Nov. 22 in Richton. Burial followed in Hickory Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Bro. Sammy Napier officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25 at Hathorn Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elouise Tolar.
Survivors include his father, Jerry Tolar of Columbia; brother, Keith Tolar (Ola) of Columbia; sister, Sherrie Lynn Broome of Columbia; sons, Thomas J. Tolar II (Stephanie) of Columbia and Kiel R. Tolar (Heather) of Columbia; daughters, Lynnette Smith (Spencer) of Sumrall and Devina A. Tolar Williamson of Sumrall; grandchildren, Tyler Evans (Olivia) of Fort Bragg, N.C., Thomas "Tre" Tolar III (DeDe) of Columbia, Taylor J. Tolar of Columbia, Kamri D. McLendon of Sumrall, Kason T. Williamson of Sumrall, Karrson M. Williamson of Sumrall, Rowan C. Tolar of Columbia, and Selleck B. Tolar of Columbia; great-grandson, Kade Tolar of Columbia, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Cary Moree, Matthew Kieff, Tommy Graves, Jerry Ward, John Webster and Clinton Faust. Honorary pallbearers were Thomas "Tre" Tolar III, Kason Thomas Williamson, Karrson Michael Williamson, Rowan Clarence Tolar, Selleck Benning Tolar, Tredyn Kade Tolar and Randy Dyess.
