Family…that was the most important thing to Lavon Sistrunk. He enjoyed puzzles, deer hunting, spending time with his grandbabies and great-grandbabies and working in his garden. Most of all, he enjoyed turkey hunting. He was the fourth of nine children growing up in rural Marion County. In 1972, he met and married the love of his life, Beverly Bullock. Shortly after marriage, their family started. He worked in the oil field for over 50 years. For the last 30 plus years, he worked with Challenger Deepwell Services. Even after retirement, his conversations were oil field related. Over the years he gained many cherished friends, who became like family. He always instilled in his children hard work, loving deeply and keeping family together. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Martha Sistrunk, and one brother, Paul Sistrunk.
