Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, at Turnage Chapel Congregational Methodist Church for Ouida Stringer, 97, of Foxworth, who died on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at her residence. Burial followed in Turnage Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Max Foreman and Rev. Ronnie Morgan officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, and from 9 a.m. until the time of the services on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Colonial Funeral Home.
A native and lifelong resident of Foxworth, she was a homemaker and member of Turnage Chapel Congregational Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Stringer; a son, Lloyd Danny Stringer; grandsons, Gene Prine and Dale Stringer; parents, Emmett and Effie Turnage; sisters, Marie Graham, Ather White and Bertha Pounds, and brother, Harold Turnage.
Survivors include her two daughters, Martha Pigott of Tylertown and Diane Hux of Columbia; son, Emmett Stringer (Patricia) of Foxworth; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Chris Pigott, Cory Stringer, Paul Stringer, Marty Stringer, Cliff Stringer, Alex Stringer, Ethan Stringer and Chad Stringer. Friends and family may share condolences and memories at www.colonialfuneralhomes-ms.com.
