Rodney “Rod” W. Forrester, 78, of Columbia, originally from Ephrata, Wash., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at his residence. Honoring his wishes, he will be cremated with no memorial service.
He was a 20-year veteran of the United States Navy, a member of the American Legion and a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Esther Forrester.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Jo Dunaway Forrester; he was the loving father of three daughters, Diahn Forrester of Hattiesburg, Rhonda Lillis of Crystal Rivers, Fla. and Kelly Forrester of Mandeville, La., and gramps to four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
