Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018, at Colonial Funeral Home for Sarah Lee Dixon, 92, of Columbia, who died Thursday, Nov. 15. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery. Chris Allen (Shelia), grandson, of Bowling Green, Ky., officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17 at Colonial Funeral Home.
She was a lifelong resident of Columbia. She was a loving mother, who was devoted to her family, and found great enjoyment in quilting, making crafts and decorating her home for special occasions.
She was preceded in death by her husband, G. B. Dixon Sr.; parents, Theodore and Annie Bullock; sisters, Dovie Pittman, Cordell Edwards, Mary Ann Raybourn and Delia Blair; brother, Jesse Bullock; daughters, Mary Helen Topey and Alice Robinson; sons, Claude Dixon, Ted Louge and Joe Bill Dixon; four grandchildren and two special nephews, Joe David Blair and Tom Blair Jr.
She is survived by three daughters, Rose (Steve) Hicks, Edgie (David) Singley and Joyce O’Quinn; two sons, Jerry (Mildred) Dixon and Larry Dixon and two special nieces, Bertie Bullock and Missi Claburn, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jamie Robinson, Brooks Robinson, Terry Edwards, Jeremy Singley, Gabriel Singley and Nick O’Quinn.
