Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Carson Springs Baptist Church for Mrs. Teddie Jane Morris Jones, 81, of Sandy Hook, who died on Saturday, June 30 in Hattiesburg. Burial followed in Carson Springs Cemetery. Rev. Carl Dickens officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until the time of the services on Sunday, July 1 at Carson Springs Baptist Church.
She was born Feb. 6, 1937, in Foxworth, to the late Theodore “Ted” Roosevelt and Ella Joy Varnado Morris. She was a member of Carson Springs Baptist Church and one of the founders of Jones Lumber Company.
She was a loving mother and a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, reading, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Ray Jones.
Survivors include her son, Brett Jones (Lisa); daughter, Debra Bankston (Birch); grandchildren, Jeremy Jones (Kerry), Michael Alford (Pam), Jonathan Jones (Paula), Kristy Alford and Josh Bankston (Danielle); nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and loving family members.
Pallbearers were Joseph Boone, Don Thomas, Jimmy Lowery, Shelton Stogner, Gustavo Sanchez and Steve Jones.
