A graveside service was held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019, in Woodlawn Cemetery for Virginia S. Foxworth, 86, of Columbia, who died on Wednesday, May 15 in Hattiesburg. Bro. Kenny Peavy officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until the time of the services on Friday, May 17 at Hathorn Funeral Home.
As a longtime resident of Marion County, she was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Larkin Foxworth; parents, Walter and Loretta Sorrell; three sisters, Exie Mae Vince, Lois McKenzie and Bessie R. Magee, and six brothers, Neville Sorrell, Edgar Sorrell, Talley Sorrell, John Sorrell, Lloyd Sorrell and Enoch Sorrell.
Survivors include her two daughters, Linda Ashley (Chester) and Loretta Hughes (Charles), both of Columbia; two sisters, Dean Rushing of Tylertown and Jean Ball of Denham Springs; four grandchildren, Vanessa Ashley of Columbia, Sharla Ashley Lange (Nicholas) of Dover, N.J., and Jeremy Buchanan (Melissa) and Candice Buchanan, both of Columbia; seven great-grandchildren, Wyatt Lange, Larkin Lange, Hudson Lange, all of Dover, N.J., and Emily Buchanan, Logan Buchanan, Sarah Buchanan and Jacob Conklin, all of Columbia, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Chester Ashley, Charles Hughes, Jeff Foxworth, Tim Foxworth, Phillip Foxworth and Jeff McKenzie.
