Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Hathorn Funeral Home for Wesley Eugene Rayburn, 78, of Columbia, who died on Sunday, July 15 in Hattiesburg. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery. Bro. Andy Baker and Dr. Brett Golson officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17 at Hathorn Funeral Home.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Oloh, the Forestry Association of Marion County and the National Rifle Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Marcile Rayburn, and one sister, Louise Berry.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Rayburn; two sons, Danny Eugene Rayburn of Sumrall and John Wesley Rayburn (Jennifer) of Columbia; two daughters, Gina Carol Mooney (Jason) of Sumrall and Kimberly Lynn Giardina (John) of Ocean Springs; one brother, George Glen Rayburn (Debbie) of Columbia; two sisters, Judy Calhoun (Joe) of Florence and Barbara Moree (Larue) of Columbia; 11 grandchildren; three great- grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Clint Rayburn, Geoffrey McMichael, Shane Rayburn, Barry Powell, Brian Bullock, and Dustin Brumfield. Honorary pallbearers were James Breakfield, Andy Pace, Bert Barrosse and Joe Mooney.
