Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at Hathorn Funeral Home for Wesley T. Johnson, 65, of Columbia, who died on Sunday, Oct. 7 in Hattiesburg. Burial followed in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Doug Barber officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until
9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11 at Hathorn Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Johnson; parents, George and Artell Johnson; one son, Wesley T. Johnson Jr., and brother, Gregory Joseph Johnson.
Survivors include his daughter, Anita Dawn Johnson of Columbia; three sisters, Catherine Williamson and Michelle Williams (James), both of Columbia, and Stacy Carney (James) of Purvis; one brother, Steven Johnson (Lisa) of Ellisville, and three grandchildren, Tyler Creel (Ashley) and Wade Creel, both of Columbia, and Brannon Johnson of Missouri.
Pallbearers were Tyler, Brannon, Shay, Gabriell, Wade, Chase and Jayce. Honorary pallbearers were Chief Jeff McKenzie, Chief Larry Ratliff, Capt. Tommy Graves, Capt. Terry Hamilton, Capt. Kenny Holloway, Eng. Willie Stogner, Pud Holmes, John Webster, Capt. Reggie Crowther, John Eation, Dewey Rushing, Randy Spears, DeWayne Turnage, Keith Johnston, John Ashe and Andy Beard.
