She was successful in many facets of her life including her job opportunities where she always excelled. Beginning at 17 years of age, her talent as a seamstress gained her employment at Haspel’s, Inc. in Tylertown followed by Kellwood Manufacturing Co. in Monticello. Eventually, her career path would lead her to Rutter Rex Manufacturing Co. in Columbia where she served as supervisor. Seizing an opportunity for advancement, she accepted a postal clerk position in Columbia. Later, she would be promoted to postmaster in Bogue Chitto. Eventually, after many years of service, she retired as postmaster with the U.S. Postal Service in Tylertown. In 1989, she and her husband began Thornhill Forestry Services, Inc., which served the forestry needs of the Mississippi and South Louisiana areas for the next 32 years. At the time of her passing, she was co-owner of Waldo’s Sports Center in Columbia.
Being a connoisseur of “good” food, she enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends while hostessing them at each of their properties. Faye’s kindness and generosity has been felt by many. She was a natural caregiver always putting other’s needs above her own.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Tommy Thornhill; parents, Macon and Ida Lee Greer Rials; one brother, Donnie Rials; and one sister, Vonzene Thornhill.
Survivors include her three brothers, Dennie Rials (Renee) and Kennie Rials, both of Foxworth, and Neville “Buddy” Rials (Earlene) of Darbun; three sisters, Sue Price of Jackson and Sonja Hutcherson and Mity Rials, both of Foxworth; one God grandson, Brandon Price; and 15 nieces and nephews, Tony Smith, Shane Thornhill, Bridgett Cox, Eric Thornhill, Alesia Hollis, Brandon Thornhill, Emily Roberts, Jamie Price, Connie Jones, Cindy Cantrell, Lawayne Rials, Lashae Lima, Shan Huhn, Benji Rials and Chris Rials.
