Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 25, 2024, in Colonial Funeral Home Chapel for Crystell Woodward, 93, who passed away on Friday, March 22, at her residence in Sandy Hook. Burial followed in Hurricane Creek Cemetery. Rev. Willie Martin officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, at Colonial Funeral Home.
She worked for various companies, including Rutter-Rex, and later retired from a dairy farm where she enjoyed milking cows. She was a member of Hurricane Creek Baptist Church, loved gardening her flowers and enjoyed fishing and boat rides on the Pearl River.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Judy Fornea and Wanda Coyne; sons, Olen Woodward Jr., O.W. Woodward, Ray Elvis Woodward and Ricky Woodward; parents, George McNabb and Florida Martin McNabb; and all of her siblings.
Survivors include her daughters, Joan Woodward and Stella Leblanc (Kevin Pittman); sons, David Woodward, Henry Woodward and Willard Woodward (Renata); 32 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Woodward, Christopher Hicks, Jerry Hicks, Kevin Leblanc, Bradley Leblanc and Chandler Petrisco. Honorary pallbearer was Dalton Hicks.
