Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home for David Eugene Coke, 81, of Hattiesburg, who passed away on Thursday, Feb. 20, in Hattiesburg. Burial followed in Old Fornea cemetery. Rev. Mary Rasch officiated at the services. Visitation was held from noon until the time of the services on Sunday, Feb. 23, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home.

He was born on Feb. 16, 1944, in Vivian, La., a 1962 graduate of Columbia High School and later retired from AT&T as a communication specialist for President Bill Clinton. He had a pilot’s license, flew his own plane and took month long motorcycle trips. He was a classic car enthusiast, regularly tied his own flies for fly fishing and was a trivia buff.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buster Mack Coke and Willie Louise Wilburn Coke.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Warren Coke of Hattiesburg; sister, Dian Anthony of Darbun; brother, Mack Coke (Anne Stone) of Smithfield, Va.; and nieces and nephews, Corey Legrande, Shelby Coke, Mike Anthony, Mack Anthony, Mitch Anthony, Thomas “Rusty” Fornea, Cullyn Brooks, Crystal Warren, Jessica Warren, Michael Warren Jr., Wesley Bainum and Cully Bainum.
Pallbearers were Thomas “Rusty” Fornea, Luke Fornea, Mike Warren, Roger Newman, Craig Lenieke and Jared Stafford.
